You may enter at any point in the show year but must compete in 2 CPGA Shows. Once you have completed your entry your showmanship placings will be counted towards the year end contest! The entry form is attached. Please feel free to mail it in or give it to Shelby in person at any of the upcoming shows! We are excited to see our youth compete this year in showmanship!
Youth Showing Info
As a club we think it is extremely valuable to have positive engagement in the next generation! We strongly encourage kids to join with a youth membership and get involved with their Pygmy goats. Our youth membership is for anyone under the age of 18. We have 3 youth only shows every year. One in April at the Spring Fair, one in May at Spring Into the Ring, and one in October at Octoberfest. These shows are typically held the night before the open shows begin. This gives our youth members a great opportunity to show and hopefully be successful with their animals. We also offer showmanship for all youth at all of our shows. Showmanship is when youth are being judged on how they show their animal as well as their knowledge of the Pygmy Goat breed. Showmanship is broken down into 4 age groups. This gives kids the opportunity to show against other kids their same age and hopefully their same skill level. Each year we also offer a year end showmanship contest, which is a yearly points total for all our clubs shows showmanship classes. The rules for this contest can be found below. Throughout the year we also try to have social engagements at shows for the youth. This provides a great way for youth members to get to know one another better! Shelby Toth is the clubs youth coordinator for 2022, she is eager to answer any questions families may have or help them get involved! You can reach her by email at [email protected]. We look forward to providing a positive involvement for the next generation of Pygmy goat breeders!
